Untitled

spring afternoon
music fills the room
the patter of rain
you walk and the floor creaks
the piano shakes with rhythm
the dog curled up by my left foot
his small body is warm
the melody is soft
you listen, but from the other room
you never watch me play
I don't mind
that way it is easy
to forget you are home

I wrote this poem over a year ago, so it's kind of old. It's one of my mum's favourites.
